Summer Sunday Class

10:00am - 10:50am

Emotions & The Psalms

All Ages
Starts June 15, Chapel

The Psalms contain every emotion you can imagine. This big book of poems captures all the very real parts of life. During this series, we will learn about how God made us feel all the emotions but also gave us the ability to control them. This summer we are going to explore the things that make us who we are so we can learn to love one another more fully just as God loves us.

June 22

Guilt

Led by Shelby Lee

This lesson focuses on the importance of recognizing our mistakes and turning back to God. Children will learn about a difficult season in David’s life when he acted selfishly and hurt others. Through the prophet Nathan’s story, David came to understand the harm he caused, confessed his sins, and asked God for forgiveness. Paired with the book A Whale of a Mistake by Ioana Hobai, this class will help children explore how it feels to carry guilt and the relief that comes with honest confession. The key takeaway: “I can confess my sins to God.”

June 29

Gratitude

Led by Shelby Lee

In this lesson, children will reflect on God’s faithfulness and the importance of giving thanks. After years of waiting, David was finally crowned king of Israel—a moment that filled him with awe and gratitude. He responded by praying and writing Psalms to thank God. Paired with The Gratitude Jar by Katrina Liu, this class will help children recognize the blessings in their own lives and encourage them to express thankfulness regularly. The key takeaway: “I can thank God every day for all He has done.”

Children

At First Pres we strive to create a safe and fun environment for all children to discover who Jesus is and how a relationship with Him can be a part of their life.

With age-appropriate games, crafts, song, and stories, we provide ways for kids of all ages and backgrounds to learn who Jesus is and how He is a part of their lives. Between services you can bring your children to the lower level of the church where a variety of wonderful teachers will guide them through God’s word.
