Nurturing Young Minds
First Presbyterian Church Preschool is an outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Church, and we serve children and families throughout the community. A "hands-on" approach is encouraged through imaginative play, exploration, and experimentation. We use The Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers as our core educational model, and we encourage responsibility and independence in the children, while building their self-confidence and self-esteem.
First Pres Preschool is such a warm and loving environment. The children are greeted by name upon arrival and dismissal each day. All our children’s teachers have been extraordinarily creative with all of their activities, schedules and crafts. It has been a great experience for our family!

Music Program
Our Music program is one of the highlights for our students each week! Our Music teacher, Ms. Melanie leads a vibrant program that includes singing, dancing, movement, instruments and highlights the joys of engagement with Music for young children.
Curriculum
Our Curriculum is play-based and loosely follows The Creative Curriculum. Classes engage in activities and projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking skills and Social/Emotional development. We have a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and sensory play.
Classes
Each of our classrooms is staffed with two fully qualified lead teachers. We believe the classroom is the ‘third teacher’ and creates an environment that engages each child in learning experiences that stimulate and promote active participation while they are at school.

I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 30+ years and this program is the pinnacle of my experience! The program offers children the opportunity to learn, develop and grow in an accepting, loving environment where teachers foster a love of learning AND love what they do!
The joy and excitement for each new experience is palpable when you walk into our school.
