The Endowment Committee of six members administers the Fund and determines the annual distributions from the Fund. Use of those distributed monies is approved by Session.

Caring becomes reality through the vision of Endowment Fund donors. The Endowment Fund of First Presbyterian Church was established in 1991 under the guidance of Dr. Thomas D. Kennedy to expand the Christian stewardship of members by providing opportunities for the support of benevolent, educational, and mission work as well as major capital improvements through special contributions and planned giving. The Endowment started with two designated funds: the Mission and Benevolence Fund and the Building Fund. Two more funds were created later: the Choral Masterworks Fund and the Discipleship Ministry Fund.

First Presbyterian Church of Charlottesville Endowment Fund

At First Presbyterian Church of Charlottesville, we offer a meaningful way to contribute to the enduring legacy of our church through our Endowment Fund. Governed by the Articles of the Endowment Fund, this fund supports the long-term mission and vision of our community.

The Endowment Fund is thoughtfully divided into five distinct sub-funds, allowing you to direct your contributions to the areas that resonate most with your passions.

If you choose not to specify a sub-fund, your gift will be equally divided between the Mission & Benevolence sub-fund and the Building sub-fund, as outlined in the Endowment Fund by-laws.

Your contribution, whether directed or general, plays a vital role in sustaining the mission and ministry of First Presbyterian Church for generations to come.
