Children
At First Pres, children are an important part of our church family. Kids are always welcome in worship, and we also offer a nursery for infants, Sunday morning classes, and fun, age-appropriate ways to learn about Jesus through games, crafts, songs, and stories. Families can join service projects through Hearts & Hands, building compassion and care for our neighbors, and share in fellowship with one another and the wider church community. Our goal is to create a safe, engaging place where children can grow in faith and experience God’s love.
Children's Sunday Classes
10:00am - 10:50am
Worship
Make a joyful noise! All Sunday morning classes spend 20 minutes singing, dancing and praising the Lord in the music room with Ms Ashley. She is a music educator and long time member of the church.
Nurture
Each class gets into God’s word at an age-appropriate level. Through storytelling, manipulatives, acting scenes, and read-alouds, children engage in bible stories and lessons. Teachers are guides as children explore scripture on their own path.
Serve
Children learn to serve through age-appropriate play. Considering other’s needs, sharing toys and space in a caring environment, and building relationships with peers and adults is how children learn to live into their faith.

Enjoy a cozy atmosphere made just for the smallest people. Plenty of toys, bright colors, songs and even a story!
3s & 4s
Room 131
This active space is filled with inviting manipulatives, storytelling excitement and lots of fun. Class includes 20 minutes of movement and music worship time as well as a story and a creative opportunity.
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Room 129
The Godly Play classroom is specifically designed to reach out to your child's imagination and spiritual sense. Each story is told with Montessori inspired figures. After the first telling, children are invited to experience the story for themselves and play together with the figures. Music and movement worship time occurs before we get to work in the classroom!
Grades 3rd - 5th
Room 215
This group is still high energy and fun filled! Class begins with snack and a bible lesson, progresses to music/movement worship time, then returns to class for creative build time. Teachers share real life moments as this group matures in their thinking and faith.
Hearts & Hands
In its second year, the Hearts & Hands initiative invites families with children up to 12 years old to engage in meaningful mission work within our community.
We provide monthly opportunities for families to connect, grow, and serve together, while supporting our mission partners in practical ways.
Each gathering is designed with young children in mind, so that even our littlest helpers can take part. Parents model compassion in action, kids experience the joy of serving, and together we share God’s love in tangible ways. Join other families for a chance to bond and give back—together!
Faith & Family
Faith & Family is a community for parents to grow together in Christ. Each week we explore practical and theological topics that speak to the real joys and challenges of parenting, with space for honest conversation and shared wisdom. Families also connect through fellowship and fun, from summer pool parties to service projects with Hearts & Hands to gatherings with the wider church. Together we support one another in raising children in faith and nurturing a Christ-centered home.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week of fabulous fun and energetic exploration as we discover how to follow God everyday! Through engaging Bible stories, outdoor adventures, creative activities, dynamic music, and of course yummy snacks, we will learn how God's Word teaches us about living life in Jesus Christ.
Our Vacation Bible School is open to all children, ages 4 through 5th grade.
Youth are encouraged to volunteer!
