El Camino - Portugal
May 5- 6, 2026
This 12-day journey offers participants the opportunity to walk over 140km (88 miles) of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago, earning their pilgrim passport and certificate of completion. The Portuguese coastal route offers more solitude, rugged coastal beauty, and charming seaside villages. For each walking day, luggage transport is included so pilgrims can walk with only a daypack. This pilgrimage will also be supported with a private coach for mid-walk check-ins and to support travelers who may be struggling with the day’s walk. A spiritual guide from Progressive Pilgrimage will also join your group to provide both spiritual and logistical support.

Spiritual Journeys Together
Pilgrimage is a spiritual practice of almost all the major world religions. It is a physical journey that represents a deeper spiritual journey. The act of walking moves us from our spiritual status quo towards something more. Jesus was a pilgrim. As a child he came to Jerusalem with his parents and as an adult the passion story unfolds in the midst of a pilgrimage. Jesus was constantly on the go. Let’s join him!
If you are interested in making a spiritual pilgrimage in 2026 with a group from First Pres, we want to hear from you! The Adult Ministries Group at First Pres is currently exploring two pilgrimage options.
