Crisis Prevention Training
With David Forney
In keeping with our commitment to a safe and hospitable church, First Pres will be offering a training class on various dates throughout the course of the year.
The Crisis Prevention Training program equips participants with practical skills to prevent, de-escalate, and safely respond to challenging or crisis behaviors using respectful, trauma-informed, and person-centered strategies. The training emphasizes Crisis Prevention Institutes' core philosophy of Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security for all individuals involved in a crisis. There is no cost to attend this important training. A certificate of completion will be issued following the in-person class.
The course will be delivered in a blended format, combining online modules and live instruction as follows (4.5 hours):
Part 1: 2-hour online course covering the core content. This is required, please complete before Part 2. Once registered a link to the video will be sent to your email address.
Part 2: 2.5-hour in-person class focused on applying skills, instructor training, and practicum work.
In-person Class Date: Saturday, January 31, 9:30am - 12:00pm
