Souper Bowl of Caring Youth Pancake Breakfast

2/8/26, 3:00 PM

On Super Bowl Sunday, February 8, our youth will host the annual Souper Bowl of Caring Youth Pancake Breakfast at 10:00am. Sunday classes for all ages are on pause this week so everyone can gather together between services while supporting hunger relief through the First Pres Soup Kitchen.

Our youth will be flipping pancakes and setting out piles of toppings. As you enjoy breakfast, you are invited to take part in the fundraiser by placing cash or checks into the collection pot for the team you are cheering for. Each pot will feature a Super Bowl team logo, each donation supports hunger relief through the Soup Kitchen's weekly ministry.

If you are unable to attend and would like to contribute please click the Online Giving portal link below, then click the dropdown menu labeled “Fund” and choose “Soup Kitchen”.

Why this matters
For many of our neighbors, access to food is an ongoing and growing challenge, with hunger impacting 1 in 9 neighbors according to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. One way First Pres helps address that need is with our weekly Soup Kitchen.

The First Pres Soup Kitchen serves an average of 90 guests each week, with attendance often increasing as the month goes on - especially during fifth Wednesdays. In addition to a hearty, healthy meal with protein, vegetables or salad, fruit, and often homemade desserts, guests rely on our blessing table for essential items. Toiletries, snacks, gloves, hats, protein bars, and drinks are always needed. All of which is thanks to our many committed volunteers.

The Souper Bowl of Caring Pancake Breakfast is a tangible way we can continue funding local hunger relief efforts. Join us on February 8 to support our youth, enjoy breakfast, and help ensure our Soup Kitchen can continue to serve with care and consistency.
