James Campbell is a married, retired cardiologist with a three children and a 3 year old grandson blended family. After retirement 3.5 years ago, he and Jill, his wife, moved to Charlottesville where two children and the grandson live. Both Jim and Jill had been separately visiting Charlottesville for over twenty years. They were lead to First Pres, the first and only church they visited in town and have felt “ at home” ever since.

God, and Christ, the Holy Spirit is greatly influencing my life at this time. I was raised in a strong Presbyterian family. Church and religion have always been a large part of my life. Now with retirement and more time I have been able to sit back and think more about life and its meaning. Recently I had a major health scare and our daughter in law has been diagnosis of extensive cancer. This has intensified my desire to try to understand God’s purpose for my life, to love, share and receive more with and from others and truly trust God’s goodness, strength and love.

What excites me most about serving on session is the ability to share, get to know better and gain greater knowledge, understanding and perspective from a group of God’s chosen people all while taking part in continuing Christ Church.
