Jason Schenk

2028

Jason arrived in Charlottesville on August 30, 2024, to begin a new role as a revenue
cycle leader at UVA Health—but quickly discovered that God had even greater plans in
store. After attending just two services at First Presbyterian Church, Jason felt a clear call
to make this his spiritual home, transferring his membership from Southminster Presbyterian
Church in Centerville, Ohio. There, he had faithfully served as an Elder, chaired the
Associate Pastor Nominating Committee, and volunteered as an usher, liturgist, and food
pantry helper.

At First Pres, Jason has continued to live out his passion for serving others—especially those who feel forgotten or left behind. He has participated in PACEM, serves as a 9 a.m. usher, delivers food and household supplies through the AIM partnership and recently joined the Flower Delivery team.

What is God doing in your life?
I thought I moved to Charlottesville for a new job, but quickly found that God brought me here for healing and loving relationships to deepen my understanding of His love and grace. God continues to show me that a life lived in community and serving others brings the greatest peace in my heart and mind.

What excites you about serving as an officer?
I am excited to grow with the Deacons, Elders, and everyone at First Pres as we serve our community in witness to the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus.”
